Our Experience

Odyssey Services has a wealth of experience built from supporting the implementation and use on a daily basis of our solutions in more than 200 sites in 30 countries. Odyssey listened to its customer’s requirement for consultancy services in the key financial centers around the world, and has now 200 consultants globally.  We have completed successfully both complex and large international projects and smaller standard implementation projects, through being directly involved in the delivery to and coaching of our customers and partners.

Our people have an in depth experience of our product range and deep industry knowledge, joining us in many cases from financial institutions, system integrators and other financial software companies. They combine experience, enthusiasm, knowledge and professionalism in the area of wealth management and financial IT.

Implementation Methodology

Odyssey Services' projects have the following common stages for all solutions and products:

Based on a stage gate approach with check point after every stage.
Within each stage, we have a full set of templates available which allow our implementation consultants to benefit from our previous implementations and reduce project duration and workload.
We offer our Services during:

  • Project Initiation Reviews (when required a Feasibility Study can be commissioned before license contracts)
  • Baseline Implementation
  • Subsequent Phases for incremental business functionality
  • Migration to new system versions

A pragmatic implementation approach is recommended that uses our standard packaged solutions to implement a baseline configuration in a first project phase, and to implement advanced functionality and specific enhancement requests during subsequent phases.

With 15 years' experience of packaged software implementation we use well proven methods and industry-recognized best practices. Our processes and methodology are regularly updated on the basis of our experience and new standards, and are packaged as a practical toolkit that is shared fully with our customers.

Project Management

Project Management is critical to the successful delivery of our client commitments and Odyssey acknowledges that industry standards must be rigorously applied.

To this end we have elaborated a Project Management methodology in line with industry standards (based on PMI). Our project managers are certified accordingly, and the methodology applied to all our project commitments, along with the set of Odyssey standard tools and templates employed by our project managers.

Delivery Approach

Odyssey has a flexible approach to delivery:

  • Full Odyssey delivery - responsibility for all parts of the project
  • Project responsibilities shared with the customer
  • Coaching in which Odyssey supports the customer's IT department or chosen System Integrator in configuring the solution

Our Implementation teams consist of business and technical consultants, and a Project Manager coordinating effort across the team and working closely with the client staff assigned to the project.

Team members have a defined role or profile, and are certified through a training program and examination in their areas of competence.

The "Bronze" certification is the common layer for business and technical consultants. It gives them a good general understanding of the Odyssey solution set. The "Silver" certification teaches specialist project knowledge, expertise and autonomy.

The certification programme is open to our customers and partners through the Knowledge Academy.
