Odyssey is pleased to announce that Charlie Barrass will take the role of Managing Director for Odyssey Asset Management Systems, the leading provider of software and services for the international private banking community.
Charlie Barrass joined Odyssey in 2000 as General Manager of the U.K, Asia and Americas region and focused initially on the development of the company's business in the U.K. and the Channel Islands. The London office, opened in 2000, now employs over 20 people and will continue to expand to meet the demands of a rapidly changing Private Banking and Asset Management sector. The opening of an office in Singapore in Jan 2001 is further evidence of Odyssey's commitment to being a global player in its market.
In his new role as Managing Director of Odyssey, Charlie will oversee all aspects of operations for Odyssey to ensure that the company achieves its goal in providing advanced technology solutions for the Private Banking and Asset Management market and delivering competitive advantage by helping customers offer superior services to their clients.
Charlie Barrass has had a distinguished career in finance technology, most notably as Managing Director of the former BIS Banking Systems, now part of Misys and one of the leading global suppliers of solutions to the wholesale banking market. He has extensive international experience in managing businesses in the high growth technology and finance arena. "Charlie brings a proven track record of achievement and excellence to Odyssey's management team," said Antoine Duchateau, Chief Executive Officer of Odyssey. "His vision, energy and experience add momentum to the growth of Odyssey and strengthens Odyssey's position as it enters an exciting period of global expansion and product development."
"I am delighted to lead the Odyssey management team. Odyssey's leading edge product suite and its dynamic team of experts in finance and technology present a unique opportunity to promote growth and shareholder value by continuing to provide exceptional solutions," comments Charlie.
"In terms of its global development, Odyssey is at an exciting stage. It has grown quickly over the last few years from a predominantly continental European-based company to a truly global organisation. This is a good time to bring added focus to Odyssey to ensure that it continues to build on its core business strengths. I am looking forward to consolidating Odyssey's position as a leading global software and services provider for Private Banking and Asset Management."
